Look 3

So a little while ago I uploaded a sketch of a look shown below.

The individual pieces of the look are shown here;

(Marc Jacobs)

And this is an illustration of what the completed look will be:

Now, I was once told that the colors of Navy Blue and Hot Pink did not go together very well. This is my example of how it CAN. IMO, I think NB and HP go very well together, so long as one of the colors is broken up, in this case, the white/blue check of the jacket. Had both pieces been solid colors, I think it would have been too much, but again, everything is good in moderation :)

Style Inspiration: Classic Parisian

I can only WISH that I'd be able to pull this ensemble off and look as insanely charming as the man above. Granted, I can pull off a tie and blazer decently enough, but my doubt begins with the white, lightweight cotton, straight-leg pants. This is no doubt topped off by a pair of well-polished, equally black brogues. I, for one, have always tended to steer away from such a light colored pant like white. Generally the lightest I like my pants to be is a forest green. This is because I'm not particularly good at keeping light clothes clean. And I can just imagine a dark black smear on the inside of my ankle from my shoes brushing past when I walk. But maybe this is a year to be brave.

Forrays into Fashion 1

I recently decided to hunker down and actually work on my sketching. I've always doodled on scrap pieces of paper every now and again but never actually worked at getting better, or even kept them. So now that I'm starting up again, I've decided to document every drawing I do, and see how my technique/ability do describe what my idea is, improves (or worsens).

Natasha Poly, Abbey Lee Kershaw, and Lily Donaldson for Gucci

As the previous season faces of Gucci, Abbey and Lily return, this time, alongside Natasha Poly who fronted the House the previous 2 seasons. With vibrant colors and the steamy-sexy look that has been owned by Gucci for years, this is one of my favorite campaign this season.

Kate Moss and Gisele Bundchen for Versace

Superstar powers unite! Kate and Gisele join as the new faces of Versace. Although, the 'new' faces may not be the right term to use, as both ladies have fronted the House before.

Sasha Pivovarova for Giorgio Armani

Ms. Pivovarova has clearly moved on after ending her multi-campaign face of Prada. Her new campaign? The face of Giorgio Armani.

MariaCarla Boscono for Dolce and Gabbana Eyewear

Raquel Zimmerman for Oscar de la Renta

Models.com's number 1 ranked model, Raquel Zimmerman (DNA) continues her campaign dominance this season as the new face of Oscar de la Renta. Along with Hugo Boss and Forevermark, her campaign tally for the S/S 2009 season is up to 3.. but you may as well say 4 since she's almost assured to be returning as the face of the Italian fashion house, Fendi.

Anne Hathaway for Vogue

Ms. Hathaway is on the January issue of American Vogue. This shoot makes it quite clear that her breakup with Raffaello Follieri is doing good things for her spirits, not to mention, smile.
